At Richmond Family Psychology, therapy is a collaborative and supportive process. We understand that starting therapy can feel like a big step, and we're here to meet you with compassion, clarity, and care.
Overview of Therapy Approach
Our approach is rooted in evidence-based treatments—meaning we use strategies backed by scientific research—but we never take a one-size-fits-all approach. We recognize that each person and family brings their own story, strengths, and challenges. That’s why we tailor our work to your specific needs, ensuring that therapy is both effective and personally meaningful in your daily life.
Treatments we use often last between 8 and 24 sessions (2-6 months). Our goal is to help individuals and families learn the skills they need to thrive in their lives. We often do not see clients longer than 6-12 months, though each client’s treatment will be individualized to fit the needs and goals of the client.
Whether you're seeking support for yourself, your child, or your family, we partner with you to understand your goals and make progress that feels practical and sustainable.
We serve individuals across the lifespan—children, adolescents, and adults—and we work closely with caregivers, significant others, and educators when needed to support lasting change at home, school, work, and beyond.
